One year ago, Conservative & Chic was an idea with a name, a prayer, a notebook full of episode ideas, and probably too much coffee involved. Honestly, there may have been a color-coded spreadsheet too, because optimism is wonderful, but a good checklist is a love language.

Today, we’re celebrating our first birthday. One whole year of conversations, learning curves, kind messages, generous guests, and moments that made me stop and think, “Wow, this little dream is really becoming something.”

When I started Conservative & Chic, I wanted to create a welcoming space for the modern conservative woman on the go. Not a stiff space. Not a place where every conversation had to sound like a panel discussion with bad lighting and tiny water bottles. A real space. A personal space. A place where faith, family, politics, culture, books, food, travel, and everyday life could all sit at the same table.

Because that’s real life, isn’t it?

We can care deeply about our country and still want to know where to find the best brunch. We can talk about family values and then immediately discuss the perfect weekend bag. We can read a serious book, enjoy a thoughtful podcast episode, plan a getaway, and still be home in time to fold the laundry we definitely forgot in the dryer.

That mix is exactly why Conservative & Chic exists.

This first year has been full of meaningful conversations

The heart of Conservative & Chic has always been conversation.

Not shouting. Not talking points on repeat. Not the internet’s favorite pastime, which is apparently turning every small disagreement into a five-alarm fire. I wanted conversations with depth, warmth, and curiosity. The kind you’d have over coffee, around a dinner table, or during a long car ride when everyone finally puts their phones down.

This past year, guests have shared their stories, their wisdom, their convictions, and their experiences. Some conversations centered on faith and values. Others touched on family, public life, culture, books, motherhood, civic responsibility, and the ordinary choices that shape who we become.

That variety matters.

A woman can be politically engaged and still have a full, layered life. She can care about what’s happening in Washington, D.C., and what’s happening in her own kitchen. She can think seriously about the future of the country and also want a good hotel recommendation. She can hold strong beliefs without losing her sense of humor.

That’s the sweet spot I hoped to create.

And over this first year, I’ve been reminded again and again that good conversations don’t require everyone to be identical. They require honesty, respect, and a willingness to listen. What a concept, right? Someone alert the internet.

To every guest who said yes, thank you. Thank you for showing up, sharing your time, and trusting this platform with your story. It has been a privilege to listen, learn, and introduce your voice to this growing community.

Thank you for helping this dream grow

No platform grows in a vacuum. It grows because people show up.

So if you’ve listened to an episode, read a journal post, sent a message, shared a conversation, recommended Conservative & Chic to a friend, or simply offered encouragement along the way, please know how much that has meant.

Every message has helped. Every share has mattered. Every “I loved that episode” has been like finding an extra French fry at the bottom of the bag, small, delightful, and deeply appreciated.

There’s a lot people don’t see when something new is being built. The planning. The editing. The second-guessing. The tech gremlins. The moment when the microphone decides to act like it was raised in a barn. The learning curve is real, and sometimes it wears heels.

But the encouragement has made the hard parts feel worth it.

That’s one of the gifts of this first year. Conservative & Chic has never felt like a one-way street. It has felt like a growing conversation, and I’m so grateful for that.

The best part of building Conservative & Chic has been realizing that this community was ready for a space that feels thoughtful, personal, and genuinely welcoming.

That’s what I want to keep nurturing in year two.

The best conversations often begin around a simple table.

Conservative and Chic is expanding into travel and events

Now for the big news.

As we step into year two, Conservative & Chic is expanding into travel and events.

Cue the confetti. Preferably the kind someone else cleans up.

This next chapter feels like a natural extension of what the platform has always been about. Conservative & Chic was never meant to be only one thing. Life isn’t only one thing. It’s conversations, yes, but it’s also the places we go, the meals we remember, the rooms that make us feel at home, and the experiences that leave us with stories we’re still telling months later.

So as year two begins, I’ll be bringing you along for:

  • Weekend getaways

  • Hotel stays and experience reviews

  • Memorable meals and favorite restaurants

  • Concerts and cultural events

  • Local discoveries

  • Travel reflections and practical tips

  • Photos, favorite moments, and honest takeaways

Some adventures will be close to home. Others will take us farther away. Some may be polished and pretty. Others may include the glamorous reality of travel, like realizing you packed three pairs of shoes and zero phone chargers. Chic, but human.

This expansion is also a chance to share more of the everyday beauty that makes life feel rich. A good trip doesn’t have to be extravagant to be memorable. Sometimes it’s a charming hotel lobby, a perfect cup of coffee, a scenic walk, a great conversation over dinner, or a small shop you stumbled into because you made one wrong turn and decided to call it “exploring.”

That’s the kind of travel I love. Personal, practical, and full of little discoveries.

So when you see the phrase Conservative & Chic Turns One: Travel & Events Ahead, know that it’s more than an announcement. It’s an invitation into a fuller picture of what this platform can become.

What you can expect in the journal

The journal will become a place for photos, reflections, and useful details from these new experiences.

I want these posts to feel personal and helpful. The goal isn’t to create a perfect travel fantasy where every suitcase glides effortlessly and every latte has heart-shaped foam. Lovely when it happens, but let’s be serious. Sometimes travel involves wrong turns, weather that refuses to cooperate, and a hotel room light switch system that requires a PhD.

Instead, I’ll share what stood out, what I loved, and what might help when planning your own outing.

That may include:

  • What made a hotel feel special

  • Favorite details from a restaurant or event

  • What I’d pack next time

  • What’s worth making time for

  • The little moments that made the experience memorable

  • Practical notes like location, atmosphere, timing, and overall feel

I’ll also keep the focus on experiences that fit the spirit of Conservative & Chic. That means places and events with character, warmth, beauty, tradition, hospitality, or a good story behind them.

Travel has a way of reminding us that culture isn’t abstract. It’s lived. You see it in architecture, music, local food, historic landmarks, small businesses, family-owned restaurants, and regional traditions.

According to the National Park Service, the United States has more than 400 national park sites, including parks, monuments, historic sites, battlefields, and scenic areas. That’s a pretty wonderful reminder that adventure doesn’t always require a passport or a complicated international itinerary. Sometimes the next meaningful place is just a few hours away, waiting with a view, a story, and hopefully decent parking.

A new chapter means packing light, taking notes, and enjoying the view.

The podcast conversations will continue

Now, let me be very clear. The podcast and the conversations you’ve come to enjoy are not going anywhere.

Faith, family, politics, culture, and everyday life will continue to be central to Conservative & Chic. Those are the roots. The travel and events content will add branches, not replace the tree.

In fact, I think this expansion will make the conversations richer.

Travel gives us stories. Events introduce us to people, ideas, music, food, and places we might not encounter in our normal routines. A great hotel stay can reveal something about hospitality. A historic destination can spark a conversation about heritage. A concert can remind us how culture shapes memory. A dinner with friends can turn into the kind of discussion that stays with you.

That’s what I’m excited to explore.

Conservative & Chic will keep making room for thoughtful commentary and meaningful interviews, while also opening the door to more lifestyle storytelling. Think of it as adding a cute weekender bag to the existing conversation. Same heart, more snacks.

And yes, snacks matter. This is journalism adjacent to joy.

Why this next chapter feels right

One of the things I’ve learned this year is that people are hungry for spaces that feel both grounded and gracious.

We live in a time when so much commentary feels loud, rushed, and performative. It can feel like everyone is competing to be the most outraged person in the digital room. Meanwhile, many of us are simply trying to live faithfully, love our families well, stay informed, make wise choices, and enjoy the good gifts right in front of us.

That’s why this next chapter feels right.

The mission hasn’t changed. Conservative & Chic is still about meaningful conversation for women who care about faith, family, culture, and country. The difference is that we’re widening the lens.

A platform like this can talk about public life and also celebrate a beautiful meal. It can discuss serious issues and also recommend a charming weekend destination. It can hold conviction and joy together.

That balance matters because real life requires both.

We need spaces that help us think clearly. We also need spaces that remind us to look up, get outside, try the restaurant, visit the historic site, buy the concert ticket, and make memories with the people we love.

Politics is important. Culture is important. Faith and family are foundational. But life is also made up of ordinary moments that become precious with time.

A road trip. A hotel breakfast. A conversation in the car. A book packed for a quiet morning. A new city street. A familiar place seen with fresh eyes.

Those are worth noticing too.

A grateful look back and a hopeful look ahead

As I celebrate this first birthday, I feel deeply grateful.

Grateful for the guests who helped shape year one.

Grateful for every listener, reader, follower, and encourager.

Grateful for the lessons, even the messy ones. Especially the messy ones, because apparently that’s where the growth likes to hide.

Grateful for every conversation that reminded me why I started.

And I’m excited. Truly excited. Year two already feels full of possibility. There are places to visit, events to attend, stories to tell, conversations to continue, and plenty of little discoveries waiting along the way.

My hope is that Conservative & Chic keeps feeling like a place where thoughtful women can find substance, style, encouragement, and a little fun. A place that takes ideas seriously without taking itself too seriously. A place that honors faith, family, country, culture, hospitality, beauty, and the everyday adventures that make life sweet.

Thank you for being part of this first year. Thank you for cheering this on. Thank you for giving Conservative & Chic room to grow.

Looking back with gratitude and forward with a full itinerary.

Here’s to one year of Conservative & Chic, and to the new adventures ahead.

I hope you’ll come along. There’s so much more to see, share, and celebrate.
