🎭 REVIEW: Evil Dead, The Musical at LAMB Theatre — A Bloody Good Time in Sioux City

If you’re looking for something completely different to kick off the Halloween season, LAMB Theatre’s production of Evil Dead, The Musical is one you don’t want to miss.

Based on the cult-classic Evil Dead films, this show takes the familiar cabin-in-the-woods horror story and turns it into an outrageous, over-the-top musical comedy packed with laughs, music, camp, chaos and — of course — plenty of fake blood.

From the moment the story gets rolling, the cast commits fully to the absurdity of it all. The performances are energetic, the comedic timing keeps the audience laughing, and the production never takes itself too seriously. That is exactly what makes it work.

What impressed me most was how much fun the entire production feels. You don’t have to be a die-hard horror fan to enjoy this show. In fact, even if scary movies usually aren’t your thing, Evil Dead, The Musical is much more comedy than terror. LAMB describes the production as a “cult classic romp” filled with violence, evil spirits and plenty of audience-pleasing mayhem. LAMB Theatre

And for adventurous audience members, there’s even a Splatter Zone. Special seats are designated for guests who don’t mind becoming part of the action and potentially getting hit with some of the show’s fake blood — poncho included! LAMB Theatre

It’s wild, ridiculous, funny and wonderfully theatrical — exactly the kind of production that reminds you how much fun live, local theatre can be.

My recommendation: grab a friend, embrace the craziness and make a night of it. If you enjoy comedy, Halloween, cult classics or simply seeing talented local performers throw themselves into a show, Evil Dead, The Musical deserves a spot on your October calendar.

📅 When can you see it?

Evil Dead, The Musical runs October 2–18, 2026 at LAMB Theatre’s Klinger-Neal Theatre at Morningside University in Sioux City. LAMB notes that the production contains adult language, adult situations and simulated violence and is not recommended for children under 16. LAMB Theatre

⭐ Conservative & Chic recommendation: Don’t miss it. This one is a bloody good time.
